Participants shone with skills that we haven’t seen so far in the project, giving new ideas and helping to build/ develop some of the characters and storyline. The ideas, creativity and support for one another is wonderful to see – very excited about this week and for the start of the weekly rehearsals. Well done everyone!

I think other young pupils would enjoy doing the dance if they came. I have never tried this kind of dance before and it is great.

We got given costumes to wear whilst we travelled to the Patrick Centre. They were orange jackets with our names on, the bottoms were black with The Pump logo on, even the staff had to wear The Pump jackets with their names on too.

Our costumes were great. We had to put face paint on but it went wrong at first but then second time it went great. I didn’t like the face paint personally but I didn’t have a choice to wear it if I wanted to look good.

We all stood out as a group and it felt great. The outfit looked great and everything went well but if it wasn’t for the youth workers and Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers we would not have got this far.

I liked my outfit. It wqas good and it stood out from everyone else.

The ballet was a really good opportunity for me because I would never have done something like that. It would be good for more young people to join.

The Pump outfit was nice and we stood out from everyone else. It was good getting to know everyone and doing the finale in a few days was hard but good.

The final performance was the best.

I discovered I liked it when I did the ballet hoo project. Michael jackson is my idol and he trained in ballet and I’ve always wanted to follow in his footsteps. I want to become a dancer. This project will help me get an experience of a different style of dance and then I can put all the styles together to make me a stronger performer.

I have enjoyed every bit of the dancing & drama that I have done so far,
I have enjoyed the rehearsing at the hippodrome it make us feel more important and there is more room to space out and dance.
